I just moved to Texas 1 1/2 weeks ago and this was my second visit to this church, but this was a real privilege to be part of "faith in action" even though I was very new to this church I felt so much apart of the fellowship already.
This was a wonderful opportunity to be participating in an activity that shows the essence of what true "Christianity" looks like, just being yourself, and taking that love of Christ that is inward and displaying this love in an acts of kindness by reaching out to others in so many tangible means and also by just sharing, talking, caring and praying for one another.
This was awesome!

I woke up to rain Sunday morning and thought, "Oh no, what will we do?" We had some outdoor service plans, and worried about the outdoor events.
On our way to church to donate blood, we saw the mile long line of cars waiting for gas. Then arrived at church to a full parking lot. Inside the building was a flurry of activity with the indoor garage sale, writing letters to soldiers, and setting up for a baby shower. It just immediately felt like our church was giving to the community, and showing the love of Jesus in every way possible. Our whole family was able to join in and help.
Later, we were so excited to watch the news coverage of our event. It was great to see HighPoint and think - "That is so cool! I wish I went to a church like that...Oh wait! I do!" But more than just HighPoint, we represented Christians in a positive way for our whole community to see. Overall, with all that was going on, my main thought was: "This is what the church should be doing."
Thanks so much to Robert and the entire team who spent hours and hours planning such a wonderful event. This will be a life-changing event for our church!

I don't know if it's possible, but I got "high" on God. I was so tired by Sunday, I didn't think I could do another thing, but God lifted me. I still feel the love from this awesome event. You can't explain the feeling to anyone; they just had to be a part of it to understand what I'm talking about. I was in awe of everyone helping each other. It didn't matter what you signed up for, people did what it took to make things happen. No one ever complained, they just rolled up their sleeves and got their hands into whatever needed to be done. I, also, want to let everyone know how awesome the teenagers and the children are at High Point. They loved on the babies, helped the parents, comforted those that had a need and played with children from every race and tribe. I think the photographs of the children say it all. The children really projected God's love to so many people. Our "guests" made comments about how loving and non-judgmental the children were at High Point. I think that speaks volumes to the parents and teachers at High Point. Everyone should be very proud, I know I am. Children reflect what they learn at home. Parents you are doing a great job.

I was involved with the discount gas service project at the gas station on the corner of Bagdad and New Hope Road. What an incredible experience!! Here it is Tuesday and I can't get the day out of my head. I had heard that a DJ at a local readio station had criticized us on Monday morning for trying to bribe the public to come to our church. Isn't that ridiculous? If this was indeed true we would have told people that if they come to church we will give them a coupon for discounted gas. Now that would have been bribery.
I was designated by "General Mark" as a talker, which is never a problem for me. Actually I was more of an active listener than a talker. With just a friendly greeting and some everyday sharing I found people more than willing to talk about themselves, their families, and things they were concerned with in their lives. We all have similar cares and concerns in this world. It's just that some of us have realized that we don't have to make it by ourselves, we can surrender our will to Jesus, and we can share this gift with others.
My constant prayer in this life is "Jesus, use me for your glory". I feel blessed to have been used this past Sunday
