Where do I start?

301bar

God didn’t design ministry for just the few with seminary degrees. Here at HighPoint, we teach that every member of our church is a minister. Through the SHAPE process, you’ll learn how God can use your Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience to minister to others in need.

What is SALT?

Purpose Team Leaders meet monthly (or as needed) to coordinate schedules, priorities and resources. This is the SERVANT LEADERSHIP TEAM or SALT. Representatives from the Youth Ministry (who have their own Purpose Teams) also meet with SALT. Purpose Team Leaders (i.e. SALT) include both members and staff.

What SALT does:

The goal of SALT is to help Ministry Leaders be successful in fulfilling their biblical purpose.

1.     SALT provides coordination and communication between Purpose Teams as needed. This includes schedules, priorities, and financial plans.
2.     SALT provides leadership training for Ministry Leaders.
3.     SALT occassionally serves as a decision-making body when issues cannot be resolved within individual Purpose Teams or for substantial church-wide decisions (for example, hiring new staff or approving the annual financial plan.
4.     SALT Leaders generally serve for one to two years. New SALT Leaders are recommended by each Purpose Team and are prayerfully chosen by the Shepherds.
5.     SALT meetings are generally held the month following the quarterly Ministry Summit meetings.

How SALT provides leadership:

HighPoint’s leadership structure includes SALT, Shepherds and Staff who work together for the health of the church. Each is like a leg on a three-legged stool. SALT provides focus on our five Biblical purposes. Shepherds provide spiritual guidance, compassionate care and teaching. Staff provides service, leadership and planning. Vision for the church comes from all three groups.
