History |
In the summer of 2000, when HighPoint Fellowship was just a handful of people, the church purchased 5.3 acres at 600 West New Hope Rd. in Cedar Park. It took a ton of faith—the cost was $400,000! We paid $250,000 cash and $150,000 was a private loan from a member.
By May 2003, we had paid off the loan and had been kicked out of our rental space. So, we found new space and started working hard on building a new facility on our property. The challenge was that we had no money in the bank at the time. Faith was again required.
We started our first Building For Life pledge campaign to raise the capital and pledges for future donations to secure commercial financing for our construction project. As plans and construction progressed, we had to extend the campaign from the initial 3 years, to 5 years (through 2007)! Faith again pulled us through to complete the project.
In March 2005, our New Hope campus opened. The building has 15,480 sq ft; the worship center seats about 250. There are 9 classrooms plus children’s worship area.
How did we pay for all of this? It was totally a God thing! There have been NO outside funding sources - every dime is from HighPoint members giving sacrificially above their tithe, to make this happen. Prayer, Faith, and Sacrifice – these are the keys to HighPoint’s Building For Life Campaign.
